Northeast Counterdrug Training Center
Fort Indiantown Gap, PA

   The Northeast Counterdrug Training Center (NCTC) at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania was established in October 1998. In 2001, a second campus opened at Volk Air National Guard Base in Camp Douglas, WI. Our charter is to provide no-cost counterdrug training and education to law enforcement and drug demand reduction specialists across the 18 northeastern United States from Maine to Virginia and west to Wisconsin. The NCTC is congressionally funded through the Department of Defense and is managed by the Pennsylvania National Guard Counterdrug Program.
   The 2002 fiscal year brings new innovations and improvements to the NCTC. These include the addition of two new fifty-person state-of-the-art computerized classrooms, a polygraph center, the upgrading of the existing RAID House, forty new hotel standard student rooms, and a virtual reality shoot house. Additionally, we will expand the distance learning and on-line instructional capability of the training center.
   Courses include:  Basic Warrant Service, Basic Spanish & French for Law Enforcement,
Cannabis Eradication, Computer Search & Seizure, D.A.R.E., Drug Identification, Ethics, Expert Testimony, Interview & Interrogation, Grant Writing, Meth Lab Training, Photographic Surveillance Techniques for Law Enforcement, Physical Surveillance, POLEX, Polygraph School, Top Gun Undercover Drug Investigation and much more.  Additionally, Counterterrorism training is currently being developed and should be available later in 2003.

Overseas Law Enforcement - Immediate Openings for Experienced Law Enforcement

MPRI is seeking to hire law enforcement personnel who qualify for embedded overseas assignments with our military in Iraq and Afghanistan.  You must be a “seasoned” (10+ years) investigator, special agent or detective with a proven track record and a high level of experience in complex investigations. 

The assignment is the Embedded Law Enforcement Professional (LEP) program.  LEPs will be embedded in US Army and Marine units deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).  LEP must have ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.   

The LEP will assist other components of the counter-IED efforts and advise on the investigative direction, attack, and neutralization of complex criminal and insurgent groups.  Your goal will be to disrupt, detect and/or defeat the IED networks challenging our military. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills.  

The mission in Iraq and Afghanistan is physically and mentally challenging.  The weather is harsh with extreme heat in the summer and extreme cold in the winter.  The schedule will be long and may continue 7 days a week.  Any physical concerns or other issues that would prevent you from successfully participating in this mission should be considered.   

The base salary is $130,000 per annum with 70 percent increase for in-theater incentive pay once deployed inside Iraq and/or Afghanistan.  The in-theater pay is as much as $221,000 during your one year deployment.  The leave policy allows for two paid 15 day vacation trips back home during the year.

Shield Driving School is looking for active and retired police officers to train 16 year old students how to drive in a 6 hour accredited course.  Shield Driving School does provide an outlined progression chart to help facilitate driver evaluations to help the students through the 6 hour course.  Shield Driving School is looking to hire between 4-6 police officers in the greater Harrisburg area to help meet the growing demand of students that are coming through the schools. Starting pay is twelve dollars an hour.  The pay will rise a dollar after six weeks and then rise again after an additional 6 weeks.  Shield Driving will be offering bonuses and extra incentives through out the year to help promote a great working environment.  Shield Driving School is looking for employees who are willing to work between 15-30 hours a week. 3 out of the 4 weeks. You must be able to work 2 Saturdays a month and Shield Driving School is NOT open on Sunday or any major Holidays.  Openings will be available for York and Lancaster next year.  If you are interested in a possible job or have any questions about Shield Driving School, please feel free to contact Brad Bixler at 717-329-5215
